GHost++: publicate autohost replays
May 13th, 2010
GHost++ is a very nice tool for hosting WarCraft 3 games in the battle.net. It runs under Windows, Linux and even under FreeBSD with some modifications.
I wrote the first version of the rehost and “from” command for them :)
It has also a authost function. It will create and start games by itself and saves the replays if you want. So I coded a small website with the “CTS Dota Parser” (very nice!!) that publicate these games/replays with all interessting information.
Only the data in the GHost++ MySQL DB and the replay will be used.
If desired, I will publicate the PHP source and a very small C diff for the replay naming in GHost++.

OMG, you must see this video on adobe’s blog about the new content-aware fill that is so fucking amazing and not believable.
If you go to this site and click on “content-aware fill sneak peek” you can see the video in much better resolution.
And here is a paper that explains how it works…
Top shell commands
March 18th, 2010
This is a very nice site for shell command one-liners. Even with a rating system to see the best ones.
Peteris Krumins has also a lot of tipps about the bash:
Working Efficiently in Bash (Part I).
Working Efficiently in Bash (Part II).
The Definitive Guide to Bash Command Line History.
A fun article on Set Operations in the Shell.
Another fun article on Solving Google Treasure Hunt in the Shell.
Don’t use unlocker…

…if you don’t know what it will cause.
Here is a detailed article from Raymond Chen about the cascade effect of unlocking file handlers:
…Suppose a search index service has a file open for indexing but has gotten stuck temporarily and you want to delete the file, so you (unwisely) force the handle closed. The search index service opens its log file in order to record some information, and the handle to the deleted file is recycled as the handle to the log file. The stuck operation finally completes, and the search index service finally gets around to closing that handle it had open, but it ends up unwittingly closing the log file handle…

Jean Pierre Wenzel wrote an advanced lua script for supercache on lighttpd that supports wptouch.
Basically, it’s based on the script from Giovanni Intini
